Game 1 ยท Lesson 1
Future Relay Race ๐
Visiting Relatives ยท Future Tense with "will"
โฑ 45 mins
๐ฅ Teams of 4โ5
๐ฏ Grammar + Speaking
Your team races to pick up word cards from the board and arrange them into correct future tense sentences about visiting relatives. The faster you build correct sentences, the faster you win โ but speed without grammar is useless!
๐ Grammar
The Future Tense with "will"
We use "will" to talk about future plans, promises, and decisions
The Formula
โญ
The verb after "will" is always in the base form โ no -s, no -ed, no -ing. Example: "She will visit" (NOT "She will visits").
โญ
"Will" is the same for every subject: I will, you will, he will, she will, we will, they will. It never changes.
โญ
To make a negative, use will not (or won't): "She won't visit tonight." To make a question, put will before the subject: "Will she visit tonight?"
Examples โ Correct and Incorrect
| โ
Correct | โ Incorrect โ Why? |
| She will visit her cousins tonight. | She will visits her cousins tonight. |
| We will bring a cake next week. | We will bringing a cake next week. |
| I will meet my grandparents tomorrow. | I will met my grandparents tomorrow. |
| They will cook dinner on Friday. | They wills cook dinner on Friday. |
โ ๏ธ
Common mistake: Students often write "She wills..." or "She will going..." โ remember, "will" never takes -s and the next verb is always the base form!

๐ What You Will Practise
๐ Grammar
Building correct future tense sentences quickly and automatically.
๐ฃ๏ธ Speaking
Reading sentences aloud clearly so your team and teacher can understand.
๐ค Teamwork
Communicating in English to plan which words your team needs next.
๐ง Memory
Repeating the sentence structure many times until it feels natural.
๐ก Tips for the Game
๐
Plan before you run. Look at the cards your team already has. What type is missing โ a subject, a verb, an object, or a time word?
๐ฃ๏ธ
Say the sentence aloud before you write it. If it sounds strange, check your word order again: Subject โ will โ Verb โ Object โ Time.
๐
Try different combinations. Don't make the same sentence every round โ the more variety, the more vocabulary you practise!
โ๏ธ Think About It
Write TWO sentences about things you or your family will do soon. Use the formula: Subject + will + verb + object + time word.

Blind Date Bingo ๐
Blind Date ยท Dating Phrases ยท Predictions & Probability
โฑ 50 mins
๐ฅ Whole class
๐ฏ Speaking + Grammar
You walk around the class, meet classmates, ask them questions, and make predictions about them using special grammar. To fill a Bingo square, you must find a classmate who matches โ and you must be able to explain why using correct English phrases.
๐ Grammar
Making Predictions & Expressing Probability
How sure are you? In English, we use different words to show our level of certainty
The Certainty Scale
Possible
~30%
might
She might be funny.
Probable
~70%
will probably
He will probably like music.
Almost Sure
~95%
will definitely
She will definitely be kind.
โญ
Use "will probably" when you think something is likely but not 100% certain. "Probably" comes after "will" and before the main verb: "She will probably like horror films."
โญ
Use "might" when you are less sure โ it is possible, but you do not know. "Might" replaces "will": "He might enjoy dancing." (NOT "He will might enjoy...")
โญ
Use "won't" (= will not) for a negative prediction: "She won't like horror films."
Correct vs Incorrect
| โ
Correct | โ Incorrect โ Why? |
| He will probably be very funny. | He probably will be very funny. (probably is in the wrong position) |
| She might like action movies. | She will might like action movies. (never use will + might together) |
| They will definitely enjoy dancing. | They definitely enjoy dancing. (missing "will" for a future prediction) |

๐ What You Will Practise
๐ฃ๏ธ Conversation
Starting conversations, asking questions, and responding naturally in English.

Using "will probably", "might", and "definitely" to express different levels of certainty.
๐ Listening
Understanding your partner's answers well enough to decide if a square matches.
๐ฌ Social English
Using polite and friendly language to meet new people in English.
๐ก Tips for the Game
๐
Go first! Starting a conversation is always the hardest part. Try: "Hi, I'm [name]. Can I ask you a few questions?" โ simple and polite!
๐ฏ
Remember WHY you wrote a name. When you call Bingo, you must say full sentences. Practise in your head: "Omar will probably be funny because he told me a joke."
๐
Check the certainty scale. Is "might" or "will probably" more correct for what you want to say? Choose your word carefully โ it changes the meaning!
โ๏ธ Think About It
Choose TWO classmates. Write one prediction about each person using "might" or "will probably". Then ask them โ were you right?
Game 3 ยท Lesson 3
Movie Mime Madness ๐ฌ
Going to the Movies ยท Movie Types ยท Modals of Possibility
โฑ 40 mins
๐ฅ Teams of 3โ4
๐ฏ Grammar + Vocabulary
One student acts out a movie scene silently. Other teams guess the genre using modal verbs of possibility. There is one golden rule: a guess without a modal verb scores zero points. This forces you to use the grammar automatically โ even when you are excited and want to shout the answer!
๐ Grammar
Modals of Possibility
"could", "might", and "must" โ three ways to say how sure you are about something
Less certain
could be
"It could be a horror film."
I'm not very sure.
Possible
might be
"It might be a romance."
I think this is possible.
Very sure
must be
"It must be science fiction!"
I'm very confident.
โญ
All three modals use the same structure: subject + modal + be + noun/adjective. Example: "It could be a comedy." Never say "It coulds be..." or "It could is..."
โญ
We use "must be" when the evidence is very strong โ we are almost certain. We use "could be" when we are just guessing. We use "might be" when we have some reason to think it is true.
โญ
These modals describe the present situation โ we are making a deduction about what we can see right now. This is different from using "will" to talk about the future.
Good Guesses vs Poor Guesses
| โ
Good Guess โ scores a point! | โ Poor Guess โ no point! |
| "It could be a horror film!" | "Horror!" (no modal verb) |
| "It must be science fiction!" | "It is science fiction." (not a modal โ too certain) |
| "It might be a comedy because she is laughing." | "Maybe comedy?" (not a full sentence with modal) |
๐ Vocabulary โ Types of Movies
Action
genre
A film with exciting events, fights, chases, and heroic characters.
"It could be an action film โ he is running very fast!"
Thriller

A film that creates excitement and tension, often with danger or mystery.
"It might be a thriller โ the character looks scared."
Documentary
genre
A film about real people or events, designed to inform or educate.
"It could be a documentary about nature."
Fantasy
genre
A film set in an imaginary world with magic, dragons, or supernatural powers.
"It must be fantasy โ there are dragons!"
Genre
noun
A category or type of film, book, or music with similar characteristics.
"My favourite genre is science fiction."
Scene
noun
A section of a film that takes place in one location or time.
"The opening scene gives you clues about the genre."
๐ What You Will Practise
๐ Grammar
Using "could be", "might be", and "must be" correctly and automatically โ even under pressure.
๐ฃ๏ธ Quick Speaking
Thinking in English and speaking fast โ just like a real conversation, you don't have time to translate!
๐ญ Body Language
Understanding that communication is more than words โ actions communicate too!
๐ Vocabulary
Learning and remembering movie genres by connecting them to physical actions and images.
๐ก Tips for the Game
๐
Watch carefully for clues. Look at the actor's face, movement, and emotions. Is there danger? Love? Laughter? Use what you see to choose "could", "might", or "must".
โ
Always say the full sentence. "It must be..." not just the genre name. Train your brain to use the grammar automatically โ this is how fluency is built!
๐ค
Choose your modal carefully. Use "must be" only when you are very sure. If you say "It must be horror" but you are wrong, it shows poor English judgment โ "might be" is safer when you are guessing.
โ๏ธ Think About It
Think of your favourite film. Write THREE sentences about it using "could be", "might be", and "must be" โ but don't say the title! Can your classmates guess it?

๐ฅ Groups of 5โ6
๐ฏ Grammar + Writing + Speaking
Part 1: Build a creative nightlife story where every sentence must include the word "that". Part 2: Use the same grammar to invent and pitch a new nightlife business idea to the class. This lesson combines grammar, vocabulary, creativity, and real-world communication.
๐ Grammar
The "That" Clause
We use "that" to connect two ideas โ a main clause and a second clause that gives information
The Structure
โญ
The word "that" connects what you think, know, believe, hear, or say with another piece of information. The second clause is a complete idea with its own subject and verb.
โญ
Common verbs before "that": think, know, believe, hear, say, feel, hope, understand, learn, discover. Example: "I think that the music is great."
โญ
The word "that" can sometimes be left out in spoken English, but in writing and in this game, you must include it: "I think that we should go to the concert."
Examples
| Verb | โ
Full Sentence with "that" |
| think | I think that we should go to the nightclub tonight. |
| hear | I heard that the rooftop bar has amazing views. |
| know | We know that the festival starts at 9 pm. |
| believe | We believe that our idea will be very popular. |
| hope | I hope that the concert is not too expensive. |
โ ๏ธ
Common mistake: "I think that is a good idea." โ this is missing the subject of the second clause! Always check: "I think that it is a good idea." Every clause needs a subject!
๐ Vocabulary โ Nightlife Activities
Nightclub
noun
A venue open late at night with music, dancing, and drinks.
"I heard that the new nightclub plays great music."
Rooftop bar
noun phrase
A bar located on the roof of a building, usually with a view of the city.
"I think that a rooftop bar would be perfect for tonight."
Karaoke
noun
An activity where people sing along to recorded music, usually in public.
"I know that she loves karaoke โ she goes every week!"
Venue
noun
A place where an event or activity happens.
"We believe that this venue will attract many customers."
Atmosphere
noun
The feeling or mood of a place โ e.g. lively, relaxed, romantic.
"I think that the atmosphere at the festival was amazing."
Attract
verb
To make people want to come to a place or try something.
"We know that good music will attract a large crowd."
๐ What You Will Practise
๐ Grammar
Using "that" clauses correctly to connect ideas โ a key skill in both spoken and written English.
๐ฃ๏ธ Presenting
Explaining your business idea clearly, confidently, and using correct grammar.
๐ง Creativity
Using new vocabulary to express original ideas โ not just memorising sentences from a book.
โ๏ธ Writing
Writing grammatically correct sentences that form a complete, logical text.
๐ก Tips for the Game
โฑ๏ธ
In Part 1, think fast! You only have 5 seconds. Keep your sentences simple โ "I think that we need more food!" is perfect. It doesn't need to be clever, it needs to be correct!
โ
Check that every clause has a subject and verb. "I believe that [subject] [verb]..." โ before you speak, quickly check both sides of "that" in your head.
๐ก
For the business pitch, use the template on the board. "We believe that... / We know that... / We think that..." โ these sentences sound professional and show you can use grammar in a real context.
โ๏ธ Think About It
Imagine you are opening a new cafรฉ or entertainment venue. Write FOUR sentences about your idea using "that" clauses. Use a different verb before "that" each time.
Game 5 ยท Lesson 5
Weekend Trip Negotiation ๐บ๏ธ
Day Trips ยท Weekend Plans ยท Suggesting Activities with Modal Verbs
โฑ 50 mins
๐ฅ Groups of 4
๐ฏ Grammar + Speaking + Negotiation
Your group must plan a weekend trip together using only modal verbs to make suggestions. Every idea must use "could", "should", "shall", "why don't we", "let's", or "how about". When a surprise Problem Card appears, you must work together in English to solve it โ still using modals!
๐ Grammar
Suggesting Activities with Modal Verbs
Different modal expressions for making suggestions โ and when to use each one
Modal Verb Menu
| Modal Expression | Structure | Example |
| We could |
We could + base verb |
We could take the bus to the beach. |
| We should |
We should + base verb |
We should book tickets early. |
| Shall we |
Shall we + base verb? |
Shall we pack our own food? |
| Let's |
Let's + base verb |
Let's leave at seven in the morning. |
| Why don't we |
Why don't we + base verb? |
Why don't we stay in a hostel? |
| How about |
How about + verb-ing? |
How about renting bicycles? |
โญ
Important: After "could", "should", "shall we", "let's", and "why don't we", the verb is always the base form (infinitive without "to"). After "how about", the verb ends in -ing.
โญ
To agree with a suggestion: "That's a great idea!" / "Yes, let's do that!" / "I agree!" To disagree politely: "That might be difficult because..." / "What if we tried...?" / "Actually, I think we could..."
โญ
The difference between "could" (it is a possibility) and "should" (it is a good idea / recommended): "We could go by train" (it's an option) vs "We should go by train" (it's the best idea).
โ ๏ธ
Common mistakes: "How about we go" โ โ "How about going" โ
| "Let's to leave" โ โ "Let's leave" โ
| "Why don't we going" โ โ "Why don't we go" โ

Agreeing, disagreeing politely, and compromising โ all in English.
๐งฉ Problem Solving
Adapting your plan quickly when something goes wrong โ just like in real life!
๐๏ธ Presenting
Summarising your group's plan clearly and confidently to the whole class.
๐ก Tips for the Game
๐
Use the Modal Menu. Look at the board and try to use a different expression each time. If someone in your group uses "we could", try "shall we" or "how about" next โ variety shows strong English!
๐ค
Disagree politely! If you don't like someone's idea, don't just say "no". Say: "That's a good idea, but maybe we could..." โ this is much more natural in English.
โ ๏ธ
When the Problem Card appears โ stay calm! Read it carefully, then immediately use a modal: "OK, so we should... / How about...?" The group that solves problems best wins the class vote!
โ๏ธ Think About It
Imagine your group is going to the beach, but it is raining. Use FOUR different modal expressions to suggest solutions. Try not to use the same expression twice!
