Buying a Home in England: are you ready?
The Buying a Home mission is our most advanced course. You follow two first-time buyers through the whole process — budgets, mortgages, solicitors, legal forms, exchange and completion — and you do the real tasks yourself, in English.
⚠️ This mission is not for everyone — and that's OK
It is written at upper-intermediate to advanced level (B2–C1). It uses every skill you have learned: grammar, vocabulary, reading long texts, formal writing, listening, numbers and money. Many native speakers find the legal words difficult!
So before you start, take this 30-question readiness test (about 20 minutes). You need more than 49% (15 or more correct) to unlock the mission. If you score less, you are not failing — you are simply not ready yet, and we will show you exactly what to learn next.
What the test checks
- 📐 Grammar — tenses, conditionals, passives, modals (10 questions)
- 🏠 Vocabulary — everyday & property words (8 questions)
- 📖 Reading — a property advert and a formal email (6 questions)
- ✉️ Formal English — choosing the right tone for official writing (4 questions)
- 💷 Numbers & money — percentages and prices in English (2 questions)
